Don Hawkins

Don Hawkins, Eisenhower Professor of Tourism Policy, represented GW at the 20th Session of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly in Livingstone, Zambia, and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, from August 24-30.

During the assembly, Hawkins moderated a panel discussion of the World Bank’s new study on tourism in Sub-Saharan Africa, spoke on the relationship between tourism and peace, and reported on the UNWTO Knowledge Network in his capacity as special advisor to UNWTO Secretary General Taleb Rifai.
