Getting to Know: Allison Hopkins

aHopkinsJob title:  Program Coordinator, GWSB Office of Undergraduate Programs.

Job duties:  Coordinate programs for GWSB undergraduate students, teach a first-year development course, and manage GWSB student mentors and ambassadors.

How long have you worked at GW:  Two months.

What’s best, so far, about working here:  Getting to know the students and the urban campus environment.

What’s something your co-workers do not know about you:  I can play the Super Mario Bros. theme on the bassoon.

Where did you grow up:  Hinckley, Ohio.

Family:  My parents, brother and sister are still living in Ohio, near Cleveland.

Any hobbies?  I enjoy playing the ukulele, photography, and day trips.

What do you enjoy doing on the weekend:  Relaxing or discovering a new part of D.C.

Favorite vacation spots:  Newport, Rhode Island, or Boston, Massachusetts.

A favorite book:  The Glass Castle by Jeannette Wells or The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.

A favorite movie:  You’ve Got Mail.

A favorite food:  Shrimp tempura sushi roll.
