Elias Carayannis, professor of information systems and technology management, is editor-in-chief of a new, multi-volume encyclopedia on invention and innovation.
The Encyclopedia of Creativity, Invention, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, recently published by Springer, is a three-volume reference set that covers a spectrum of topics related to innovation. It features 300 topical entries and 400 exhibits from more than 250 researchers, executives, policy makers and others around the world.
Carayannis is also co-editor with George M. Korres, associate professor in the Department of Geography at the University of the Aegean, Greece, of The Innovation Union in Europe: A Socio-economic Perspective on EU Integration, published in June 2013.
The book, which examines current issues and problems regarding economic integration and innovation in Europe, argues that national or regional economic development depends on technical change, social and human capital, and knowledge creation and diffusion.
