Ketan Patel, MBA, `10

Ketan Patel, BS, ’08; MBA, ’10,  and his twin brother, Kamal Patel, BS,  ’08; MD, ’13, have started the nonprofit organization Dr. Interns to create medical and healthcare internships overseas.

Ketan Patel, the organization’s founder and chairman, said the group’s mission is to decrease disparities in health care in developing countries.  The brothers received their undergraduate degrees from GW’s School of Engineering and Applied Science.

So far, Dr. Interns has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars and more than 60 internships. It is providing help to communities in five different countries in partnership with 15 universities.  Among its success stories:  fully funding a burn ward in Surat, India.  To read more about the Patel brothers and their organization, go here.
