Businessman Ave Tucker, BBA, `77, who has endowed a chair at GWSB and is on the Dean’s Board of Advisors, was elected last month to the GW Board of Trustees.
Tucker is CEO and co-founder of TM Financial Forensics, LLC, a business and litigation consulting company. A second new trustee was also elected: Grace Speights, JD, ’82, a partner in Morgan Lewis’ labor and employment law practice. The new terms began July 1.
“Their unique perspectives and breadth of expertise will be an asset to the GW community,” said outgoing Board Chairman W. Russell Ramsey, BBA, ’81.
Tucker, a certified public accountant who came to GW on a baseball scholarship, is a consulting professor at Stanford University, where he teaches graduate-level finance and accounting courses. He has a certification in financial forensics designation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Tucker funded the Tucker Professorial Fellowship at GWSB and then, in 2011, made an additional gift to expand the fellowship into a fully endowed professorship.
Over his career, Tucker has provided management, regulatory, auditing and litigation consulting services, as well as expert testimony in disputes involving antitrust, breach of contract, bankruptcy, securities, intellectual property, labor, mergers and acquisitions, fraud, insurance, construction, consumer products and entertainment and sports, among other areas.
Previously, Tucker was a managing director and member of the executive committee of Navigant Consulting, an international consulting company.
