Mariya Bouraima, BBA, ’06, launched her own boutique communications agency, Aveya Creative, in early 2013. Aveya Creative provides custom communications for small businesses, including brand strategy, logo design, copywriting and social media management.
After working locally and internationally in marketing and communications roles for corporate, government and higher education organizations, including the U.S. Department of State and the Ritz-Carlton, Bouraima decided she wanted to work with small businesses. Her current clients include a woman-owned social enterprise that produces and sells fair trade shea butter skincare products. (Shea butter is derived from the nut of the African shea tree.)
Bouraima plans to share her business experience with current GW students as a career advisor.
