William Halal

William Halal, professor emeritus of information systems and technology management and president of the technology forecasting firm TechCast, gave a keynote address at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO’s) Industry Day conference in Riga, Latvia, on Oct. 15-16. The meeting included 400 generals and admirals who coordinate NATO’s needs for common defense with their industrial partners in Europe and the U.S.

Halal’s presentation was on a recent article he published using case studies of Netflix, Apple, and Toyota to illustrate companies’ technological innovations. The article, “Business Strategy for the Technology Revolution: Competing at the Edge of Creative Destruction,” appears in Journal of the Knowledge Economy.
