Second “Creative Leadership” Event to Focus on City
The second installment of the School’s “Conversations in Creative Leadership” series focusing on “The City” and featuring Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is scheduled for Dec. 10.
Rawlings-Blake will discuss how she encourages creative thinking in her administration. A reception will follow the event. To register, go here.
The series kicked off Nov. 19 with a focus on “The Arts” featuring Marin Alsop, music director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the first woman to lead a major American orchestra.
Alsop discussed how, after meeting initial resistance from BSO musicians, she went on to boost the orchestra’s audience, produce new recordings, balance the budget, and get the BSO more involved in the community through outreach programs for needy youth and nonprofessional adult musicians.
Video of Alsop’s appearance on the Foggy Bottom campus, with an introduction by Dean Doug Guthrie, who also moderated a question-and-answer session, is available from FORA.tv. To watch the video, go here.
