Getting To Know: Sung H. Ham
Job title: Assistant Professor of Marketing
Job duties: I am responsible for conducting research that is aimed toward publication in leading marketing journals. I am also responsible for teaching courses in the Global MBA program, and I serve on committees designed to make GWSB a better business school.
How long have you worked at GW: Since August 1st.
What’s best, so far, about working here: Although I enjoy many things about GWSB, I truly appreciate the commitment that Dean Doug Guthrie exhibits in elevating GWSB to become a premiere business school. That makes my job exciting and rewarding on a day-to-day basis.
What’s something your co-workers do not know about you: In college, I worked part-time as a Taekwondo instructor.
Where did you grow up: Although I was born in South Korea, I grew up mainly in the Lone Star State: Texas.
Family: I am married to my wife, Jessica, and have two daughters: Annabelle (3 years old) and Lauren (2 years old).
Any hobbies? Collecting art and trying critically acclaimed restaurants.
What do you enjoy doing on the weekend: I enjoy spending time with my family in exploring the Washington, D.C., area.
Favorite vacation spots: San Diego, California, and Seoul, South Korea.
A favorite book: Animal Farm
A favorite movie: Amadeus
A favorite food: Wagyu Filet Mignon
