Second is only the first to lose!

Being able to cheer for Team USA in non-traditional settings has to be one of the most exciting ways to experience the Olympics.  The best part is everything is very calm, but when an exciting event comes along the energy very subtly shoots through the roof.  With our eyes glued to the television, watching our men’s swimming 4×100 relay team win a silver medal while chowing down on restaurant style (verses pub style) fish and chips was quite a thriller — the race was SO close!  I must say, we were all of course rooting hard for our boys to come in first ahead of France and clutch the gold medal, but it was exciting nonetheless.

Well, I think its safe to say people from other countries in the restaurant could sense “those Americans were expecting a gold…second is only the first to lose there!”

Yikes!…Maybe I should practice being a little more excited for next time!
