P&G USA Home
Today we visited the Proctor and Gamble’s (P&G) USA hospitality house. They are one of The Olympic Program Sponsors (TOPS), a group of the highest level Olympic sponsors. For London, P&G created two hospitality homes; one for the USA athletes and another for the world athletes. Our visit included a tour of the USA home. The floor plan was broken down into different sections to give players a place to relax, eat, and watch the games with their families while also enjoying P&G’s premier products. A women’s salon, a children’s play area, and a charging station were some of the main attractions.
My favorite product display, however, was the Gillette Man Cave for their men’s products. They had 8 big screen tvs, 2 pool tables, 2 foosball tables, countless leather seats, a bar, and dart boards. An ideal man’s cave that any guy would want in his home. To promote their Gillette products, P&G created a barber shop/ men’s salon area for visitors to test them. P&G paid for the renovations to the existing structure to install the necessary plumbing and electrical for the 5 hair washing and cutting stations and 2 shaving sinks. These renovations and other upgrades to the internet and TV cable systems are legacies they are pleased to leave behind. Although the home is a giant in your face advertisement for P&G products, it is an incredible gesture to the athletes and their families that will greatly improve their Olympic experience.
