Safety Before Waste

As the Olympic host city, London has to take serious precautions against all levels of security threats. One way they do this is by taking away all of the trash cans around the public areas to prevent the possibility of someone storing a bomb in one of them. Today, we happened to come across a trash dispenser in a tube station, but there was no outer container, simply the clear bag allowing you to see its contents at all time.

  1. This has actually been in place for a number of years in London in response to IRA bombings in the city in the 80s-90s. Also why it’s so difficult to find a “rubbish bin” near Westminster and #10 Downing Street.
