Tourism Institute Plans for Next Quarter Century
Tourism alumni and experts will gather July 10 at the school for a focus- group meeting to discuss the formation of a new 25-year plan for the School’s International Institute of Tourism Studies (IITS).
The Institute – created by GW and the United Nations World Tourism Organization in 1988 – celebrates its 25 anniversary next year. To mark the occasion, it has launched a strategic planning process to develop a vision for its next quarter century. That includes getting input from experts and stakeholders from the GW community and the travel and tourism industry.
The July 10 focus group, which is sponsored by the GW Tourism Alumni Network (GWTAN), will explore such issues as developing trends in the tourism industry. The meeting will be conducted by Seleni Matus, a sustainable tourism expert who serves as a consultant to the Institute. Refreshments will be served. Details are as follows:
