Getting To Know: William Smith

Name:  William Smith

Job title:  Executive Aide, MBA Programs Office

Job duties:  Manage appointments for Dean Riddle and just try to do whatever I can to make her life easier.  I also help direct students, schedule rooms and make sure our office runs smoothly.

How long have you worked at GW:  Three years.

What’s best, so far, about working here:  The people I come in contact with, and interacting with ambitious students.

What’s something your co-workers do not know about you:  I can knit, though I’m very much a novice.

Where did you grow up:  I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, but I’ll usually say Las Cruces, N.M., since I spent a good portion of my life there.

Family:  My partner and two dogs (a bullmastiff/boxer mix and a pit bull).

Any hobbies?:  Reading, I occasionally do some writing, games and movies.

What do you enjoy doing on the weekend:  Spending time with neighbors, lots of movies and taking the dogs to Rock Creek Park.

Favorite vacation spots:  California is growing on me though I wouldn’t mind taking some international trips.

A favorite book:  Le Morte d’Arthur, The Count of Monte Cristo and Drive

A favorite movie:  Dogma

A favorite food:  Green chile-chicken enchiladas
