UN Tourism Head Speaks at GWSB
United Nations World Tourism Organization Secretary-General Taleb Rifai spoke on the “Global Importance of Tourism: Challenges and Opportunities” at this year’s Spring Colloquium.
Headquarted in Madrid, UNWTO is the UN agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism. Rifai previously served as assistant director general of the International Labor Organization and is a former Jordanian minister of tourism and antiquities.

Taleb Rifai, secretary-general of UNWTO, is pleased with his “thank you” T-shirt after delivering the keynote speech at the Spring Colloquium co-sponsored by the School and tourism alumni on April 5.
The April 5th colloquium was co-sponsored by the GW Tourism Alumni Network, GW Alumni Association and GWSB in collaboration with the International Institute of Tourism Studies housed at GWSB.
