Spring Financial Literacy Series Kicks Off this Week

A new, six-week, Financial Literacy Seminar Series kicks off this week at GWSB.

The lecture series begins Thursday, March 8, and will conclude on Thursday, May 17. The seminars will feature speakers who are researching topics related to financial literacy, such as how individuals make decisions concerning mortgages, retirement savings or credit card debt. Each lecture will be followed by a reception in the 6th floor lobby of Duques Hall.

The seminars are organized by Annamaria Lusardi, the Denit Trust professor of Economics and Accountancy, in conjunction with a panel of economists from the Federal Reserve Board.

Lusardi, who organized a similar seminar series in the fall, is director of the Financial Literacy Center, an initiative begun in 2009 to develop and test programs to improve individuals’ financial literacy and promote informed financial decision-making.
