Laurie Bassi, chief executive officer of McBassi & Company, a Golden, Colo.-based firm that uses behavioral economics to help companies improve their performance, and lead author of Good Company: Business Success in the Worthiness Era, spoke to faculty and students at an information systems and technology management (ISTM) conference at GWSB on February 8.
Bassi, who earned a doctorate in economics from Princeton University and is a former professor of Economics and Public Policy at Georgetown University, presented studies showing that companies that invest in building productive relationships with employees, customers and the public are more profitable than those that don’t. She and her colleagues have created a financial advisory service that uses a “Good Company Index” to predict stock market performance.
Bassi was introduced by William Halal, professor emeritus in the ISTM department, and Yilu Zhou, assistant professor. She appeared as part of the department’s ongoing conference series.
