Name:  James Mallek, CPA, PhD

Job title:  Visiting Professor of Accountancy

Job duties:  Supporting the Department of Accountancy and the School of Business.

Time at GW:  I started in the fall of 2011.

Best part of working at GWSB:  Having great colleagues and fantastic students in world-class programs.  Our research seminars are first rate.

What co-workers do not know about me:  I was one of three founders of an Internet start-up and a senior member of the management for another enterprise. Both companies were publishers.

Family:  Happily married, father of two nine- and seven-year-old boys, loving son, devoted son-in-law, and uncle to ten nieces and nephews.

Favorite things to do on the weekend:  Taking my boys to one of their chess tournaments.

Favorite vacation spots:  The Outer Banks

Favorite books:  Inside Steve’s Brain by Leander Kahney and Thomas L. Friedman’s The Return of Depression Economics.
