Tourism Studies Institute Develops Program for UN Organization

IITS Director Kristin Lamoureux
GWSB’s International Institute of Tourism Studies (IITS) was recently selected to develop and deliver a training program on development and international cooperation through tourism for the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
The program includes courses on: Sustainable Tourism in the International Development Assistance and Cooperation Environment, Tourism Workforce Development Programs and Tourism Clusters & Destination Management. The program will be offered in both on-line (August 22 to September 23) and on-site formats (at GW, October 1 to 15). “To have been chosen to deliver this program is a great honor for GW,” said Kristin Lamoureux, IITS director and visiting assistant professor of tourism studies. A complete description of the program is available here.
