Responding to world events, the GW School of Business and the Elliot School of International Affairs will offer a course this fall that will examine oil and its pervasive effects on business and society. The course, “Oil: Industry, Economy, Society (IBUS 6900/IAFF 6118),” will include case discussion and guest speakers to examine an array of current topics from gyrating oil prices, to the effects of conflict and corruption, to last year’s Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The instructor, Robert Weiner, professor of international business, public policy and public administration and international affairs, has published numerous articles and several books on oil and economic issues.
