Larry Yu, professor of tourism & hospitality management, and Donald Hawkins, Eisenhower professor of tourism policy, were sponsored by USAID and Jordan Tourism Development to conduct several programs in Amman, Jordan.  From Feb. 20-24, they conducted “Educate the Educators – Capacity Building for Hospitality Building for Hospitality & Tourism Education in Jordan” training workshops for faculty and administrators.  On Feb. 24, they presented “Achieving Tourism Destination Excellence – A 365 Day Approach.”  They served as discussion group facilitators at the Feb. 28 “National Conference on Innovation and Reform of Tourism & Hospitality Programs in Jordan.”  Yu and Hawkins also visited the Hashemite University and met with university President Rowaida Maaitah to provide advice on curriculum development.
