Doug Guthrie
Doug Guthrie, dean and professor of international business and professor of management, spoke Feb. 1 at the Aspen Institute Center for Business Education’s Leadership Summit on the Future of Business Education. Guthrie participated in a panel with Judy Samuelson, executive director of Aspen Institute Business and Society Program, and Bob Bruner, Dean of the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Key themes of the discussion included developing critical thinking skills, the interface of business and society and the privilege of limited liability companies. “I always try to communicate to students the privilege of working at a corporation—giving the sense that they are stepping into an institution with power second only to the nation-state,” Guthrie said.
