GW Surpasses $100,000 Donor Challenge
Thanks to gifts from more than 9,083 alumni, The George Washington University exceeded its alumni donor challenge and will receive a $100,000 gift to the Power & Promise Fund for student aid. An anonymous alumni donor issued GW a $100,000 all or nothing challenge: If 9,000 alumni contributed by Dec. 31, he pledged to make a gift of $100,000 to the “Power & Promise Fund” for student aid. As December began, GW was at 60 percent of the 9,000-donor goal.
This success – powered by GW’s committed and generous alumni base – illustrates the collective power of alumni gifts in making a difference for GW students. Annual gifts from alumni are critical to all areas of the university, including the Power & Promise Fund, academics, student life, athletics and more.
Thank you to all the alumni donors who were a part of the challenge.
