Global MBA Student Receives Net Impact Leadership Award

Patty Pina, Global MBA, ’11, and president of GW Net Impact, won the 2010 Net Impact Leadership Award. The organization chose Pina based on her leadership skills and her dedication to growing the Net Impact network. A graduate student-led organization, the GW-Net Impact chapter is part of a global, non-profit network of emerging leaders in corporate responsibility and sustainability dedicated to using business as a vehicle for social change.

Under Pina’s leadership, the GW Net Impact chapter received Gold Chapter status, an achievement given to only 7 percent of all chapters internationally. Patty has also consistently given back to the greater Net Impact network by presenting on chapter leader calls, organizing regional chapter events and representing Net Impact in Washington, D.C.

Net Impact held its Annual Conference Oct. 28-30 at the University of Michigan. Pina was presented with the 2010 Net Impact Leadership Award during the conference’s closing keynote ceremony.
