Dean’s Research Scholars Named
GWSB has named three faculty members as 2010 Dean’s Research Scholars. Tjai Nielsen, assistant professor of management; Sok-Hyon Kang, professor of accountancy; and Meghana Ayyagari, associate professor of international business, received the honor.
Nielsen is studying the multilevel perspective of prosocial behavior and performance, cultural intelligence and international work teams, international investment motivation and the dynamics of corporate board performance. Ayyagari’s research focuses on corporate governance, “theory of the firm,” financial development and international finance. Kang specializes in financial reporting, earnings management, executive compensation and security markets.
The two-year award honors full-time faculty who have notable, published research and who are conducting ongoing research projects. Each Dean’s Research Scholar receives a $25,000 summer-research stipend and has a reduced course load during the academic year. Scholars also receive $3,000 for research-related expenses.
